Acadiana Youth Hunter Education Club is an advanced hunter education program designed to enhance classroom knowledge and increase practical in-the-field experience.
Acadiana Y.H.E.C. is a non profit organization intertwined with the Louisiana Youth Hunter Education Assc. which is a subsidiary of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Educational Department and the NRA Hunter Services Department.
Under direct supervision of volunteer Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Instructors the youths (10-18) develop personal ethics, self control, safety of firearms, and marksmanship skills. They are educated in survival techniques, wildlife identification, and wildlife conservation with the objective to provide a safer future in outdoor activities.
